As we begin a brand-new church year, I’m filled with excitement and deep hope for what lies ahead.
First, I want to say how very much I will miss Ann Fletcher. It’s hard to fully express how much I admire and respect Ann. Over the past year, she has shared her time and talents with such generosity and impact. Ann, your presence has been a blessing—you model kindness, curiosity, perseverance, and deep, non-judgmental listening. You will be deeply missed. Thank you.
I want to warmly welcome Amanda Strombom and Ren Staiman to the Board. Amanda, your leadership, positive energy, and unwavering dedication to East Shore inspire us all—we are truly lucky to have you. Ren, your leadership experience and your thoughtful voice are already making a strong impression. We are honored and grateful you’ve joined us. Assuming the consent agenda passes, I also want to extend a warm welcome to Claire Danley as a Youth Representative Advisor. Claire, I hope you continue to feel empowered to speak boldly and thoughtfully when the spirit moves you—we’re so glad you’re with us.
To all returning Board members and to our staff leaders: we have been through a lot together this past year. Through every challenge, your loving kindness has shone through. We’ve been bold and brave—with many successes and more than a few mistakes—and we’ve always aimed to lead with humility and accountability. I couldn’t be prouder.
Let’s carry that courage into the year ahead. East Shore is counting on us. Let’s lead the way forward—together.
