Board Buzz: January 2020

Dec 21, 2019 | News

by Mike Radow, Vice President

The Board wishes to express gratitude for entrusting us with oversight and future planning of the wonderful place. We are honored to serve with loving care.  We extend hopes for great happiness and fulfillment of your needs this holiday season. As the earth turns inward, so may we all, taking time to cherish and appreciate ourselves, as well as our communities. We are reminded to keep hope alive through all the struggles we may face now and in the coming new year.

Mission Fund Drive

In Board business, we approved the Mission Fund Drive as a Core Team, led by Membership Development Manager Nicole Duff and Rev. Furrer. The drive will take place in February and March of 2020. There will be plenty of chances for all of us to participate in a variety of ways. Stay tuned.

Safety Policy

The Board also approved a first reading of new Safety Policy and a new Annual Goals Action Plan policy. You will get a separate Eblast with a link to the full text of these policies soon so you can provide input if you wish. In addition to getting a taste of what policies look like, we invite you look at the explanation of Policy Based Governance elsewhere in this Beacon.

Holly House Survey

About 30 people responded to the Holly House Survey. The board has seen those responses. We still want as much dialogue as possible, with many more members, to share perspectives, and listen well. If you would like to see a copy of all those responses, copies are available at the front desk.

The next Board Listening Session will be Saturday, January 4 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.
