Morning Yoga for EVERYbody!
Learn how to have peace within your body. This gentle yoga class is for ages 13-100+ and all skill levels.  Barbara teaches viniyoga, which adapts to your body and flexibility in a meditative setting. Barbara has been attending or teaching this class at East Shore for over 25 years!

Fourth Wednesday Book Club
Please join us in the ESUC Library to discuss our book of the month on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm. Important to the fun of discussing our favorite books is the thoughtful, reflective quality of the interchange, the good humor, and the wit and wisdom of the group. See their book list here.

Heretics’ Haven: An AA meeting for Heretics
A heretic is defined as, “One who may choose, and who holds opinions contrary to what is generally accepted doctrine.” Accordingly, in this meeting people with spiritual or religious uncertainty, people of any belief or  no belief, may come to seek the healing and support offered by AA’s 12 step recovery program without feeling pressure to conform to others beliefs.

Guitar Jam
Do you enjoy playing guitar? Would you like to play with others but don’t get the chance very often? Are you looking to learn new songs, chords, or techniques? Or maybe you just enjoy singing in a relaxed setting? Then Guitar Jam is for you. We meet twice a month to share songs and tunes, in any style from folk to blues to rock and even original material. You don’t even have to be a guitar player. Other instruments welcome too. Come sing or play with us or just drop in and listen.

Military History Group

“Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” —George Santayana   The Military History Group meets to discuss major battles that have affected world history.  Examine the political and strategic causes of particular battles. Understand tactical operations. Uncover turning points and outcomes. Anyone with an interest in Military History is welcome. Like a book club, battles are chosen ahead of time by a leader who has a particular interest in that topic. The leader researches the battle, provides an overview at the beginning of the meeting, and leads the discussion.

Humanist Discussion Group 1st Thursdays, 7:30 pm
We are forming a new Humanist Discussion Group, which will meet monthly to discuss various topics related to Humanism, modern science, and modern ethics. Instead of assigned books, we will each read as much or as little as we choose about a given topic (normally online), and then we’ll meet to discuss it.

Mindfulness and Presence in Communications: 2nd Mondays, 7:00 p.m.
Being more mindful immediately improves the quality of your life, as well as the lives of those around you. Often people think you must meditate for hours a week, or have an intense practice, but not so! In this class you’ll learn some creative and immediately useful techniques to bring mindfulness into your life every day, with minimal effort. This monthly class, led by Brett Hill, is packed with information and practices gleaned from working with founders of mindful-based practices such as Hakomi, Loving Presence, and Matrix Leadership Workshops as well as years of experience as a meditation instructor and intuitive. Feel free to drop in.
