Both East Shore and UUA have endorsed the Energy Innovation and Dividend Act–EICDA (HR 763), a bill Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) supports.
Join us via Zoom to hear how this all came to be. Some highlights of what we will cover:
- The role of UU’s members in CCL in lobbying churches to endorse EICDA. A video by CCL UU Faith Action Team, shows the similarities between UU principles and CCL’s core values. (Note: CCL has 13 Faith Action Teams. The UU Faith Action team is by far the largest with 160 members.)
- How EICDA works to reduce pollution using market forces, is budget neutral, and creates climate justice. This will all be explained by the Bellevue Chapter CCL Youth Action Team. They have created a dynamic presentation and will be available to answer questions.
Why you (or a teenager in your family) might want to join a local chapter of CCL? Gwen Hansen of the Bellevue chapter will highlight the pluses of being a member. It is a unique grass roots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. Zoom Room: 980 1531 1852
