Join Meaningful Movies Bellevue for the 54-minute film John Lewis: Get In The Way from Bullfrog Films. Released in 2017, this was the first major documentary biography of civil rights hero, congressional leader, and champion for human rights. John Lewis was the youngest speaker at the historic 1963 March on Washington and he led the Bloody Sunday march in Selma in 1965 where Alabama state troopers attacked peaceful protesters with billy clubs, bullwhips, and tear gas. He also fought tirelessly to expand and protect the rights of Black voters and other voters of color, so the film is especially important now! Please join us for this screening and lively discussion afterwards. Open to all ages.
