We are delighted to be able, once again, to host a music service in our sanctuary. This service will feature several songs by the East Shore Mighty Choir, a few pieces by the East Shore All Stars (a new jazzy ensemble composed of talented congregants including a fantastic drummer who is new to our midst) as well as some new congregational songs and favorite hymns.
In person participants MUST BE VACCINATED! Read more about the process here.

“Music doesn’t lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.”- Jimi Hendrix
Music, whether vocal or instrumental, performed or communally experienced, has a unique way of unifying people. Irrespective of one’s tribe, spiritual affiliation, cultural identity, age or abilities, when people gather together through music they literally synch together. Recent studies have shown that when people sings together, their heartbeats and breathing synchronize. Numerous other studies have shown that group singing creates a sense of well-being, interconnectedness and has a lasting effect on boosting mood and reducing anxiety. Other studies have shown that engaging in music increases mental facility, memory and confidence, and can even boost one’s immune system. When children are exposed to music, their academic performance skyrockets across all disciplines. Participation in musical activities increases both cognition and lifespan among seniors. Babies who are exposed to music develop more fully and quickly in mental, physical and emotional capacities.
In short: groups of people who join together in music live longer, fuller, healthier, happier lives. Let’s celebrate the myriad ways music plays such a vital role in life.

We have several parking lots. Our upper lot, off SE 32nd Street, is closest to our Sanctuary, it has handicap and stroller parking. There is a roundabout for drop-offs. Our lower, main parking lot is also off SE 32nd Street. There are stairs that will lead you up to the Sanctuary. If that lot is full, there is also street parking on 32nd Street.
