A youth con is a weekend-long gathering of Unitarian Universalist youth from many congregations. It is a chance to step away from everyday routines and into a shared community focused on connection, growth, fun, and living out UU values together. Youth cons are intentionally youth-centered, relationship-based, and grounded in care, respect, and joy.

This gathering is a bridging con, meaning it includes a bridging ceremony for teens who are moving into young adulthood. Bridging honors the transition from youth programming into young adult life and affirms the continued place of these youth within our UU community.

All About the Con

  • Two-night, in-person gathering with UU youth from across the Puget Sound region
  • Shared meals, overnights, games, movies, and structured free time
  • Workshops focused on identity, leadership, anti-racism, and LGBTQ+ inclusivity
  • Youth-led and adult-supported worship, rituals, and reflection
  • Community responsibilities shared by participants, including helping with meals, cleaning, and leadership roles
  • Opportunities for creativity, connection, and fun, including a talent or no-talent show
  • A possible offsite field trip (details shared closer to the event)

Youth Will

  • Build a supportive peer community
  • Learn more about themselves through identity and reflection work
  • Practice living out Unitarian Universalist values
  • Engage in service and social justice conversations and projects
  • Explore spiritual practices and rituals
  • Develop and practice leadership skills
