Youth Exploring Spirituality Jr. Youth

YES-UU Junior Youth are exploring….their spirituality and community. Junior youth ages 11-14 are invited to join the Youth Exploring Spirituality Youth Group. Youth programs include a variety of curricula to develop a great sense of self and connect with your values in service to yourself and the greater good. Jr. High youth typically participate in Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education and Coming of Age youth development programs. Following Coming of Age, our children are typically members of ESUC and friends are always invited to join.
In this program youth will:
- Make new friends!
- Examine personal & familial values and beliefs and how they relate to actions.
- Learn to live out values and beliefs in daily life.
- Get to know themselves better, identity work.
- Have fun! – Games, Movies, Overnights, Yummy Food, Field Trips!
- Engage in service work and social justice projects that include anti-racism work and lgbtq+ inclusiveness.
- Explore different religious beliefs.
- Learn how science & reason links to humanism.
- Learn about our connections to nature.
- Learn more about Unitarian Universalism, its history and its principles and sources.
- Explore rituals and spiritual practices.
- Develop and practice leadership skills.
How to Attend
Please register online ahead of time or drop in and sign up on the spot. esuc.org/kids or in the classroom. Parents/Caregivers can always stay in our classrooms to help with transitions or check out our programs more. Parents/caregivers are expected to stay onsite during programs. Volunteering and parental participation in our programs is key for our community!

Transportation & Parking
We have several parking lots. Our upper lot, off SE 32nd Street, is closest to our Sanctuary, it has handicap and stroller parking. There is a roundabout for drop-offs. Our lower, main parking lot is also off SE 32nd Street. There are stairs that will lead you up to the Sanctuary. If that lot is full, there is also street parking on 32nd Street.
