Fourth Annual Friendship Dinner

This year’s Friendship Dinner was held on June 15th at Baitul Ehsaan, the Ahmadiyya mosque in Monroe. The annual event started four years ago by East Shore members who collaborated with members from several local mosques, including the Muslim Association of Puget Sound and this year’s host. Rev. Steve Furrer joined a panel of Muslim speakers to explore the notion of “Practicing Peace.”

Over 170 people attended the dinner, including UUs from East Shore, Edmonds, and University Unitarian as well as Muslims from around the Puget Sound area. Following the presentations, attendees shared a delicious dinner provided by our Ahmadiyya hosts and engaged in spirited conversation. We are grateful to the Ahmadiyya who opened their hearts to all who came and to Rev. Steve Furrer for offering the Unitarian perspective on what is required of us as peacemakers. Watch for news late next spring about the fifth annual Friendship Dinner so you can put it on your calendar.
