Many people want to get more involved, to deepen their connection to this community of East Shore. There’s so much going on at East Shore that it hasn’t always been easy to find the information needed to know what groups are available and where you can help. But now we have a new section of the church’s website which provides everything you need to get more involved.
New GET INVOLVED webpage
On the top menu of ESUC.org, on the pull-down option for CONNECT, is a new option called GET INVOLVED. On this page, you’ll find:
Build Community options:
- Social Groups, such as Men’s Breakfast, Women’s Perspective, Sacred Stitches etc.
- Care and Support, if you need some extra support or would like to help those who do
- Small Group Ministry, to join a regular circle exploring deeper questions in life
Volunteer opportunities:
- Big events we need help with, such as the Ingathering, Tabling at Salmon Days, Auction etc.
- Ongoing opportunities, such as Sunday Welcoming, ACE, cooking for Porchlight and Sophia Way,
- Work with children, such as teaching RE, OWL etc.
On each of these pages, you’ll see a link or contact person to connect with. You will be welcomed with open arms!
This is just the beginning. At the very bottom of the GET INVOLVED page is information about how to become a member of East Shore, and also how to become a leader and get more involved in the running of the church.
I am currently leading volunteer coordination on the Membership Development Team. If you have any questions about volunteering at East Shore, and how to make best use of your skills, or if you have a need for volunteers and want help finding the right people, please reach out to me and let me know how you’d like to get more involved!
