Khasi Hills: Trinkets & Treasures a Success!

The Trinkets & Treasures rummage sale was a huge success! Our dedicated volunteers and donors helped raise nearly $6,000 for the church’s partnership with Unitarian communities in NE India! The funds will pay annual salaries for five teachers at the Friendship School in NE India. They also will pay for each family in our two partner communities to receive a collapsible solar light for their homes! The LED lights will help young students study even during the frequent power outages.

Our hearts are full of gratitude for everyone who helped us: for the many congregation members who donated oodles of wonderful items to the sale; for the many dedicated volunteers who sorted, priced and helped sell thousands of items; and for the East Shore staff, all of whom pitched in to make the sale work way above and beyond their regular duties!  To top it off, we generated a lot of wonderful conversations among members, volunteers and people in the community… the energy was just amazing!  Thank you all so much!
