What a year Meaningful Movies Bellevue had as we hosted eight social justice documentary online screenings followed by insightful and lively discussions! Our 2020 – 2021 listings ran from September through May and included films such as Slay the Dragon, a 2019 documentary film about gerrymandering in the United States, Following Their Lead: Youth in Action that highlights the stories of youth and how they are creating social change, The Biggest Little Farm chronicles the eight-year quest of a couple as they trade city living to pursue their dream of farming, and The Condor and The Eagle premiered Indigenous women uniting the peoples of North and South America to deepen the meaning of “Climate Justice”. These and other wide-ranging topics provided educational evenings facilitated by team members with a special interest in the subject.
