Republic Services wants us to know….
Months ago, ECAM (Earth & Climate Action Ministry) organized a visit to Republic Services recycling education center in Seattle. We learned much new and useful information that we hope will be helpful for all of us in our East Shore community to improve the effectiveness of our recycling. Much of the new information gained is tied to the automation system. Material to be recycled needs to be in a form that can be sorted efficiently and safely. If we put items into any kind of a bag, the sorting machine can’t divide the material into the appropriate conveyor. If the pieces are too small, machinery cannot sort it either. There is more. The following 20 minute video will walk you through these important details.
