Coffee Klatch returns on Wednesday, May 18 at 10:30 am in the Library at East Shore. Come enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, and meet up with old friends or make some new ones. While you’re there, some tech-savvy members will be on hand to answer your questions about using technology, in a separate room to give you privacy and quiet time to focus on your specific needs one-on-one. So, bring your laptop, tablet or phone (or all your devices if need be) and our trusty tech support team will attempt to answer as many of your questions as they can.
Coffee Klatch on Wednesday mornings, one of the regular events that had to be put on hold due to Covid, provides members with an opportunity to socialize in person in the middle of the week. Another challenge that was highlighted by Covid was the number of our members who need support using technology and accessing church systems, and the need to take some pressure for meeting this need off our fabulous but busy church staff. We’ve decided to combine the two needs into a single, hopefully regular, event.
If you are comfortable with technology (you do not need to be an expert!), and you have the patience to support those who struggle to understand their way around it, please contact Amanda Strombom to let her know what devices/technology you are most comfortable with and what your availability is (even if you can’t make Wednesday mornings), so that we can build up a team of volunteers to provide technical support to our members for this and other ways going forward. This is a great opportunity for younger members to get involved, and to help build cross-generational community.
