Rev. María Cristina Joins UUWF Board

It is with great joy that I have accepted the invitation to join the Board of Directors of the Unitarian Universalist Women’s Federation. The Women’s Federation builds covenantal relationships among Unitarian Universalist women that equip us all to be better co-conspirators and allies in the movement for collective liberation. It has always been the UUWF’s wish to join wholeheartedly with people everywhere in striving for universal human dignity, freedom, and peace.

East Shore has a close relationship with the Women’s Federation through the Clara Barton Sisterhood which was created as a way for local women’s groups, congregations, and individuals to honor women aged 80 and over for their contributions to their congregations and communities.

“We believe that trans women are women, without exception. We believe that gender-expansive, nonbinary, or two-spirit people who feel most comfortable in/identify with women’s spaces should be welcomed and included in our work.”

In 2023 we honored Milly Mullarky and Barbara Clagett. In 2024 we honored Marcia Sills and Gail Knopfler. This year we honored Evelyn Smith and Kirstie Lewis.
