What is Seabeck? It is our annual 3-day retreat over Memorial Day weekend – May 22-25, with fellow Unitarians at the beautiful Seabeck retreat center on the Hood Canal. Along with great food and connections with fellow UUs, there will be organized activities for children and youth, and a variety of workshops led by fellow campers. Together as a community, we create a weekend gathering with intriguing workshops, fun activities and stimulating programs both for children and adults. It is always a memorable event for the whole family…and your friends!
This year we will be celebrating the 50th year of Seabeck Memorial Day Weekend, and our founder and longest-attending member, Gayle Knoepfler, will be sponsoring a special ice cream extravaganza to mark the occasion.
This year our guest presenter for the main program is Bowen Lee…a professional storyteller who will lead us in the art of immersive storytelling, and explore how to dig deep to tell fascinating and engaging stories…plus a workshop for sharing narrative songs. She was a public school teacher for 35 years and her teaching is highly creative. Learning with her is fun as she weaves story, art, and information together to engage, encourage, and deepen the learning experience.
