We members of the Earth & Climate Action ministry team (ECAM) would like to express our gratitude to the congregation for donating April’s “Share the Plate” to People for Climate Action (PCA). Together we collected $790 to support PCA’s efforts to mobilize climate action in King County cities. Their focused campaign to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by helping cities develop and implement comprehensive climate action plans is especially critical now given backsliding at the national level. If you would like to learn more about PCA’s work or how you can get involved, you can go to peopleforclimateaction.org or speak with ECAM members.
Just a final note: Cities are currently drafting their 2027-28 biennium budgets. Attending public hearings and voicing support for increasing funding to actually achieve the commitments the cities have already made to cut emissions is especially useful at this time. If you happen to live in Bellevue, for instance, consider coming to the June 23rd City council meeting where the draft budget will be reviewed. Bellevue residents are welcome to speak up at this public hearing.
Thanks again for supporting climate action!
