On January 13, East Shore held a vigil for Renee Good. Our friends at Murano Senior Center attended online. After, they shared a conversation about what can they do?
Laura Lin, a new comer to ESUC, wrote this poem:
Beloved friends,
Tonight, feeling deeply the pain in our world, I offer this prayer from my heart. May we come together—across differences—with love, compassion, and a shared commitment to justice.
Spirit of Love and Justice,
Source that connects all life,
Strengthen our courage to confront hatred with kindness.
Guide us to ease pain through caring action.
Where inequality and greed divide us, awaken generosity, fairness, and the will to uplift every voice.
May no one go hungry; may dignity, respect, and opportunity reach all people.
Help us transform sorrow into resolve—
Fear into bold advocacy—
So that our world grows more just, peaceful, and compassionate.
May we recognize our power to heal and to help.
May love be the foundation of all our choices.
May we hold hope, and act for a better world.
So may it be.
Amen. Blessed be.
Laura also shared this: “It is a great joy for us to be part of the East Shore Unitarian community. Though new to Universalist/Unitarian tradition, we feel blessed to be learning and growing in this open-hearted community. Thank you for nurturing a space where all are welcome and every spirit is honored.”
Betsy Gelb also shared the photo with us, with 20 Murano Residents showing up and putting their values into action.
Thank you to our friends at Murano for sharing this with us!
