Cookies & Carols

East Shore Unitarian Church 12700 SE 32nd Street, Bellevue, WA, United States

Announcing the return of Cookies & Carols! On Friday evening December 9, come to the sanctuary with some cookies to share (home-made is great, but store-bought are tasty too.) We'll pass around carol books and sing carols near the piano with music director Eric Lane Barnes. After we've sung our fill (about an hour?) people are invited to share cookies and bring all leftovers home. (It's sort of like Flower Communion, but with cookies.) Please bring containers to cart your pastry treasure home in. This is a very family-friendly event!

Blue Christmas

East Shore Unitarian Church 12700 SE 32nd Street, Bellevue, WA, United States

For many of us, the Holiday season is filled with wonder, a spirit of generosity, and joyful anticipation of gathering with friends and family. And for many of us the Holidays can also be filled with sadness, stress, anxiety, and/or “the blues,” especially if you are grieving the recent loss of a loved one, or suffering being estranged from family, dealing with difficult health issues, or feeling disconnected and lonely. Perhaps the very pressure of having to make holiday preparations is making you feel overwhelmed. For people who are grieving and who are suffering, this forced joyfulness during the Holidays can be painful. Many of us just need a break, a contemplative space where we can slow down, connect with community, accept where we are, and honor our emotional needs. Whatever the reason for feeling blue or overwhelmed, we invite you to join us in creating a peaceful oasis.

Let us ponder the magical experience of following your star! Rev. Dr. María Cristina Vlassidis Burgoa will be preaching.
