Adult Children of Aging Parents
Our group is for anyone who finds them self caring for an aging parent or similar caregiving relationship. We support each other by discussing our experiences. We delve into topics such as the changing roles of ourselves and our siblings, balancing independence versus safety in decision making, the differing roles if you live close or far from your loved one, and how we respect and tend to our own needs as well as those of whom we are caring for. We meet the second Sunday of each month in the Education Building Library from 11:30am to 1:00pm.
Family Covenant Circle
This Covenant Circle is specifically for families and meets once a month on Sunday mornings. Childcare is provided. Please call to find out how to get involved.
Men’s Support Group
Our goal is to create a space where men can explore their feelings, make friends and get support. New members are welcome when there is an open night. Call to find out when that will be.
Parkinson’s Disease Support Group
The purpose of the East Shore Unitarian Church Parkinson’s Disease Support Group is to provide resources and community for people with Parkinson’s Disease (or other neurological diseases) and their care partners. We meet most fourth Sundays in M-108 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sometimes we meet as a group of the whole and sometimes we break into two groups – people with Parkinson’s and care partners. We are open to people at East Shore, community members, and we welcome visitors.
Widows Flying Solo
This is a support group for widows, where widows care share with others who understand the struggles. This group meets the second Friday of each month from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Library.
