Adult Children of Aging Parents
Adult Children of Aging Parents, a group under the Pastoral Care Ministry, meets the 2nd Sunday of each month, from 12:30-2:30 p.m., usually in the Education Building Library. This open group is for everyone who finds him/herself in the role of an adult child trying to help an aging parent. The group structure is similar to that of a covenant circle and, while not a support group, there is support in sharing the discussion. Topics suggested by participants range from: How does this role overlap or fit with my other relationships? How do my siblings and I share this role? How do my parents feel about this role? What is the role like if you live close vs a. state or more away? And how can we all better communicate in these new roles?
