Tour the Grounds

You are invited to the next East Shore Grounds work party on Saturday, March 18 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. If you would like, bring a sack lunch and come join our fellowship lunch around noon. Come for any amount of time to help out and see the progress that the Grounds Team has made during the past months:
Memorial Garden: New name tags have been attached to memorial plants in memory of our beloved East Shore members who have passed away. Wax Myrtles and Hicks Yews planted along the north wall to form an evergreen privacy screen between the condos and the Memorial Garden. Wood chips were spread for mulch. Frittalaria native bulbs planted at the entrance, edges of the gravel pathway cleaned, and trees and ferns pruned.
Raised beds: During the fall we planted a cover crop of clover to enrich the soil. Garlic bulbs were also planted. Perennial herbs salvaged from the old P-Patch are being contained and organized.
Wooded area behind the church: We pulled English ivy that wants to creep up the trees.
Playground: Between the playground and the RE building, blueberry bushes and grapes salvaged from the Holly House property were transplanted in February.

More Information
Our four acre East Shore campus holds so many treasures to explore! Native bulbs and early shrubs are starting to bloom, and we will be preparing the raised beds for spring planting soon.

Transportation & Parking
We have several parking lots. Our upper lot, off SE 32nd Street, is closest to our Sanctuary, it has handicap and stroller parking. There is a roundabout for drop-offs. Our lower, main parking lot is also off SE 32nd Street. There are stairs that will lead you up to the Sanctuary. If that lot is full, there is also street parking on 32nd Street.
