What Does Service Mean at East Shore?

We affirm that Service Is Our Prayer every Sunday. We say the words, but we don’t talk about what service means in our congregation. What does service as a prayer mean? Is service the act of donation, participation, charity, promotion, jumping in to do the work of eliminating the ‘hurt,’ or is it something else? What does service mean to you and what does it mean to the church? Where does service fit as we live our mission of practicing love, exploring spirituality, building community, and promoting justice?
Join the East Shore community in exploring these questions. Who knows, you may gain some understanding of what is true for you, you may even change others, or be changed by what you say and hear.
