The Women’s Perspective Annual Retreat will be April 19-21, once again at Rainbow Lodge near North Bend. Our guest presenter is Milly Mullarky, East Shore member and the Heart and Soul of our OWL program. Milly Mullarky (she/her) became an instructor with the UU “About Your Sexuality” (AYS) program in the late 1970’s. She continued with the “Our Whole Lives” (OWL) program to become a National trainer for all OWL levels. When Milly arrived at ESUC in 1980, she used this knowledge and experience to become a Seattle Planned Parenthood Staff Educator and continued to train OWL instructors for our UU District, often teaching classes at ESUC herself. Milly’s first intent is always to provide a safe learning environment. Milly also currently serves as a member of the Lay Pastoral Care Ministry Team.
Milly’s presentation will feature a selection of classes from the new “Our Whole Lives: Sexuality Education for Older Adults” curriculum published in 2019 by the UUA & UCC faith traditions. We will learn from the curriculum as we explore our attitudes, values, and feelings about our own and others’ sexualities and how they may have changed as we’ve aged.
Saturday afternoon activities will include hikes, art, and others to be planned. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Marty Wilhem would love to hear from anyone willing to be an activity leader, at [email protected]. The Rainbow’s lodging and grounds are awesome; most dietary preferences can be met (fyi, neither beef nor pork will be served).
So, please join us as a “camper” or as a “day-tripper” to experience how the community we create together fuels our spirit.

We have several parking lots. Our upper lot, off SE 32nd Street, is closest to our Sanctuary, it has handicap and stroller parking. There is a roundabout for drop-offs. Our lower, main parking lot is also off SE 32nd Street. There are stairs that will lead you up to the Sanctuary. If that lot is full, there is also street parking on 32nd Street.
