Aisha Hauser to Receive 2018 Angus MacLean Award

The 2018 Angus H. MacLean Award will be presented to Aisha Khadr Hauser at the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) General Assembly in Kansas City, MO on Friday, June 22, during General Session III. This event is scheduled to occur on Friday, June 22, 2018; 7:00 – 8:45 p.m. . Live streaming video will be available during that time.

Aisha Hauser, MSW (Hunter College), is a credentialed Religious Educator at the Associate Level who currently serves as Director of Lifelong Learning at East Shore Unitarian Church in Bellevue, WA. A Unitarian Universalist religious educator for more than fourteen years, Aisha has served congregations in New York and New Jersey as well as Washington and worked as Children and Families Programs Director for the UUA during the launch of Tapestry of Faith, the Association’s comprehensive, online lifespan religious education curricula.

A leader in the Liberal Religious Educators Association (LREDA), Aisha has served on LREDA’s board, chaired its Diversity and Inclusion Team, and provides professional peer support as a Good Officer. Also a leader in the community of Unitarian Universalist religious professionals of color, in 2017 Aisha served on a team of religious educators furnishing Unitarian Universalist congregations with curriculum as well as impetus to hold Teach-Ins to dismantle white supremacy.
