RE: Vaccine Checks & Registration

Please bring proof of vaccination for you and your children (over age 4) for us to check! We’ll have registration available for RE classes as well. While parents are registering and providing proof of vaccine, children and youth will continue planning the Blessing of the Animals worship service, a short story telling of “The Great Kapok Tree”.

RE Outdoors: Snowshoeing on the Pass

Middle and high school youth outdoors, along with youth advisor Mark Norelius, on a fun adventure into the wild woods of I-90. We would leave from ESUC and return by 8 pm. This youth outdoors program will include snowshoeing, sledding and dinner cooked over an open fire in the snow. You can bring your own equipment or check in with the church about borrowing equipment. We have snowshoes to share. 

Middle School OWL Parent Orientation

Join us as we practice KINDNESS this month with your friends and families by making craft kits for the junior orthopedic guild. Families will be assembling craft kits in Ziploc bags and may be cutting material needed to place in the Ziploc bags as well. If time permits families will be invited to make cards for children the Junior Orthopedic Guild serves.

Log on to connect with a volunteer team, schedule your volunteer dates, talk about curriculum, and ask questions of the RE staff. We will be introducing ourselves and introducing the curriculum that will be used. We will also be discussing safety and our principle and covenantal guidelines.

HUUGS: Emerging Adult Care Packages

Please join in creating care packages to send to many of the young, emerging adults who are a part of East Shore’s congregation’s community and extended family! Please bring items to contribute to January 30 and February 6. On February 6, following worship, we will have a packing party to make and decorate 16 Emerging Adult Boxes.

Join on the 1st and 3rd Sundays thru June for outdoor programs. We have offerings for ages 5-8, 8-10, and 11-13 led by volunteer parents and teachers. We continue to wear masks and social distance at all times. Our core curricula center on Unitarian Universalist principles and the sources of wisdom from which those derive: world religions, our own direct experience, and the natural world of which we are a part.

Make sure to stick around at the end for a short reflection time. During this time we will reflect as a group and share the service we did, how we felt, and how we can continue building on our character and be of service to others.

All Spring Equinox Land Restoration and Plant Swap

This week for RE, we have two options, including a special extended event for All Ages outdoors. We will form small teams to work on native plant restoration projects throughout our grounds. Bring a picnic lunch, some clothes you can get dirty, and a pair of gloves. We’re also hosting a first ever plant swap. Plant swaps are a money-free tradition to exchange mostly, but not exclusively, perennial plants that are often divided and dug up at the turns of the season.

Paint our Community Mural

East Shore's Community Mural Project is our main community action project for 2022. Come participate in this collaborative project that explores values, creativity and nature. The Community Mural Project - People of all ages and abilities can get involved here, use this link to sign up. On June 20-25th, we'll prep and paint the mural background.
