There are many opportunities to show compassion to those in our larger community hardest hit by this virus and its fall-out, particularly those in the most precarious economic and social situations.

Support Folks Just Released from the Northwest ICE Processing Center

AIDNW facilitates their departure, enabling many to stay temporarily at a Hospitality House in Tacoma. They have an urgent need for grocery cards for Safeway and Fred Meyer, nearest Hospitality House.

Support Men in Congregations for the Homeless Shelters

Congregations for Homeless suggests provided this update to their shopping list to allow for online shopping, and acknowledges their urgent needs.

Support Women at The Sophia Way

Support the Duwamish

Let us remember East Shore is on Duwamish Land and give thanks for that amazing treasure in our lives. Especially needed during this health crisis, the Real Rent program provides financial resources which go directly to Duwamish Tribal Services (DTS) to support the revival of Duwamish culture and the vitality of the Duwamish Tribe. Support Northwest Unaccompanied Refugee and Immigrant Youth

East Shore member, Janette Garcia, is a Social Worker with Refugees Northwest Foster Care Program, a subsidiary of Lutheran Community Services Northwest. She works with youth, ages 21 and under, many of whom have lost their jobs because of COVID-19.
