Beloved Seabeck Community,
Sadly, the Seabeck Planning Team has decided to cancel 2021 Seabeck Memorial Day Weekend. We discussed many possibilities, hopes, and options, and concluded that there is too much uncertainty about whether or not it will be safe to meet in person by May. Because so much of the Seabeck experience is tied to the location and each other, we felt that a virtual event wouldn’t fulfill our hopes for the weekend. We have reserved the Seabeck Conference Center for 2022 and have every hope that we’ll be back in beloved community by then.
In the meantime, there are several options available to us all. Seabeck has been struggling this last year and has been closed for most of the year. They welcome donations from those of us who are able to contribute.
In addition, Seabeck has been opening intermittently for individual guests, a sort of bed and breakfast arrangement. They’re calling it a “Friends of Seabeck Weekend” and are opening up for a Fri/Sat night stay with a private bathroom, 6 meals delivered to your room, and space for games and relaxing. Seabeck is offering tours of the new Pines Building. They are opening as state regulations allow and is currently taking reservations for weekends through the spring and summer. What a wonderful opportunity to have a quiet weekend and get your fill of Seabeck! Details can be found on their website. We hope you all are safe and well, and we look forward to seeing you in 2022!
Warmly, The Seabeck Planning Team.
