Each Sunday in August the East Shore Beloved Racial Justice Ministry team sponsored a weekly potluck and discussion group for the important book So You Want to Talk About Race by Seattle author Ijeoma Oluo. We created a safe place, practiced humility and covered very tough subjects including police brutality, systemic racism, the model minority myth, white privilege, intersectionality and much, much more. Thank you to the 23 Church members who participated. We hope to offer this book discussion group again this winter, so stay tuned!
