We are committing to raising resilient, confident and compassionate youth and children. We learn and explore together how we can live our values for a more just and equitable world. Our children and youth gather in small, multiage groups with adult guides for worship, rituals, free and structured play, songs, activities and stories to learn about and discover the joy of spirituality, a loving and caring community, and Unitarian Universalism.
In many Latin American countries we celebrate Las Posadas, a pre-Christmas tradition recreating the arduous journey of Mary and Joseph fleeing from violence and seeking refuge. In the United States, many churches incorporate this tradition as an expression of solidarity with all immigrants and refugees. We are reminded that we are a living sanctuary and a welcoming congregation.
Join fellow Church members and other UU Churches in solidarity after Church service for a Black Lives Matter Flash Stance in Factoria on the corner by Dacell’s Jewelers.
This year, the Fourth Wednesday Book Club has decided to focus on banned books. Please join us to discuss 1984 by George Orwell and The Circle by George Eggers. Both books are dystopian novels that are sure to get you talking!
Announcing the return of Cookies & Carols! On Friday evening December 9, come to the sanctuary with some cookies to share (home-made is great, but store-bought are tasty too.) We'll pass around carol books and sing carols near the piano with music director Eric Lane Barnes. After we've sung our fill (about an hour?) people are invited to share cookies and bring all leftovers home. (It's sort of like Flower Communion, but with cookies.) Please bring containers to cart your pastry treasure home in. This is a very family-friendly event!
