Women’s Perspective Retreat: Transforming Conflict through Love in Action

Rainbow Lodge 46820 SE Mt Si Rd, North Bend, WA, United States

Do you get exasperated when someone makes a statement you cannot abide, one that offends your personal values? What do you do? Counter statement? Argue? Remain silent but resolve to end your relationship because your values are too vast to bridge?

In today’s world, differences in belief and values are common. Because these conflicts merit tough discussions if we are to co-exist in harmony, how we listen to others’ viewpoints and then take thoughtful actions can often neutralize a combative situation.

During our retreat, we will explore our personal responses to conflict; we will learn how to hear others without judgment, express our ideas clearly, and practice new responsive skills that retain our integrity and respect. All of this is in a fun, supportive, interactive environment!

Join together transplanting winter squash and pumpkin plants at the "Bank", that is the Food Bank Farm in Snohomish. It's a chance to get outside, and off the screen, enjoying the fresh air, learning about food growing and how far generosity can go! Planting is done standing up by using a transplanter tube that makes a hole in the ground and drops the plant into the hole. Work is in teams of two. One person uses the planter tube. The other person drops the plant into the ground. Little bending required! Farmer Jim says this work is suitable for children with supervision, youth, families, adults....everyone and it is rain or shine! We have a chance to work and learn outside.
