Rev. Furrer was a thespian in his youth and has long felt that dramatic training was a wonderful readiness regimen for parish ministry. Not just training for the roles of toastmaster, impresario, and chief storyteller, but as the principal tribal ritual master every Sunday Morning. Come participate, in-person or online, in a five-part analytical, emotionally engaging study of ritual in our (1) every day and (2) Sunday lives, led by Grace Colton and Reverend Furrer. Must register.
Join us inside as we practice COLLABORATION this month with your friends and families by making an emergency kit and an evacuation plan for your community! Make sure to stick around at the end for a short reflection time. During this time we will reflect as a group and share the service we did, how we felt, and how we can continue building on our character and be of service to others.
This week for RE, we have two options, including a special extended event for All Ages outdoors. We will form small teams to work on native plant restoration projects throughout our grounds. Bring a picnic lunch, some clothes you can get dirty, and a pair of gloves. We’re also hosting a first ever plant swap. Plant swaps are a money-free tradition to exchange mostly, but not exclusively, perennial plants that are often divided and dug up at the turns of the season.
Join Meaningful Movies Bellevue for the three-part series entitled Connectivity Project. Each of these programs examines the ripple effects of our actions in an interconnected world.
Money has power! As individuals, and as members of groups & institutions, we can make decisions about money that align with our values. What are concrete ways to put our money where our mission is? A team from the Social Justice Fund and Newground Social Investment will host this workshop that provides an overview of socially responsible investing: the earnings, benefits, and power of investing for social impact to create real change. It's a framework we can apply to organizational investments, endowments, individual investments, and individual estate planning. It can also apply to charitable giving in any context and could be valuable to parents and children as they develop values around money together. Register for a zoom link. Email [email protected] with questions. Sponsored by the 8th Principle Team.
The ESUC Welcoming Congregations team cordially invites you to join us on Sunday March 27 at noon to watch an episode of HBO's fabulous series 'We're Here.' There will be a short Q&A following the viewing, hosted by trans activist/teacher/singer Stephanie Dykes (who will be the guest speaker for the service earlier that Sunday.) This viewing fulfills part of the requirements for East Shore to renew its standing as an official welcoming congregation among UU churches. Your attendance is warmly, brightly and deeply encouraged!
