Traditions around the world remind us that the mortal veil separating life from death is delicate, and that at this time of year, we can journey deep within the inner worlds of prayer and dream. We will, individually and collectively, honor and grieve our ancestors and the blessings and truths of who they were; feel into our own power and greatness of being; and set intentions about ourselves, as future ancestors. We will imagine a future world, full of community and depth.

Rev. Furrer invites everyone to consider the events of the past week and what we as individuals are now called upon to do individually, as families, and as a community of faith with a historic tradition that—sometimes—calls for a collective response.

Diwali is the annual Festival of Lights celebrated in India, and follows a long tradition that some say predate Hinduism itself. This service will offer an opportunity to consider what insights can be gleaned from this ancient festival, and what meaning the story of Ram and Sita may hold for us today.

Unitarian Universalists pride themselves in being activists, doers, makers and shakers. But on the cusp of Thanksgiving, Rev. Furrer is preaching on the value to be found in receiving. A focus on scientific discovery, artistic creativity, biofeedback and yoga.
